1881: The Beginning

Glen Falls House was built in 1881 as the Ernst family farmstead. In the 1940s, the Sulger family converted the property to a hotel, adding a pool, tavern, shuffleboard courts, tennis courts, and additional guest quarters. Glen Falls House has been a popular destination for friends and families ever since. With a nod to the past in every stage of our revitalization efforts, we are committed to celebrating this history while inviting the next generation to join us in starting new traditions.

2017: A New Chapter

In May of 2017, Jonathan Picco and Greg Brier purchased Glen Falls House and launched revitalization efforts. In just one season, the team has introduced thoughtful design work, extensive renovations, updated guest amenities and Trotwood, a sourced-from-scratch-comfort-food kitchen. Glen Falls House is now open year round, welcoming winter guests to warm up around wood-burning stoves after an afternoon on the slopes at nearby Windham and Hunter mountains.

What’s Next: A Catskills Renaissance

Owners Jon and Greg have curated an eclectic music & arts program that has quickly attracted a NY-based community of artists looking to escape to and enjoy the beauty of upstate New York at Round Top. The Catskills region is experiencing a “new Renaissance,” and we are excited to be part of the next chapter.
